Last Sunday I attended VogueKnitting Live in Pasadena. I was really looking forward to this show. So happy that I took a workshop from Franklin Habit on "Embroidery on Knits." He has such a wit, very interesting to listen to and has a no nonsense approach in his teaching. The stitches he showed us I remember my grandmother teaching me these same stitches. For example, the running stitch, fly stitch and leaf stitch. He gave a great presentation plus passed around beautifully stitched examples. I highly recommend taking a workshop from Franklin. As for the show itself, I was a bit disappointed. The fashion show wasn't much - only showed six sweaters. The following designs are good but nothing special. There was a low turn out which means for us students, this was a great opportunity to be in a small class - more attention with the instructor. I heard VogueKnitting isn't coming back to Pasadena but heading to Florida. Good Luck!
